Northern Plains Financial was founded October '14 as a partnership between Mike Elsberry and Lowell Schweigert supported by Jerrilyn Walstad.
Mike, Lowell and Jerrilyn worked together at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley prior to forming Northern Plains Financial (NPF) as a client focused, independent financial firm.
Lowell tragically passed away 12/29/2019. NPF has worked to honor Lowell's legacy through continued customer excellence as modeled throughout his career.
Eric Carlson joined the firm in '21 and has since become a partner. Our Fargo office was established in '23 and moved to it's current location in '24.
Operations in Grand Forks moved to our current location in '20.
